There is a saying, “A witch must be able to hex and to heal.”
We say this because a hex is destructive magical intent. * Destructive*. Not evil, bad, malignant, etc. outright, simply destructive. (Opposite of constructive.)
To eliminate disease, destruction must occur (to the disease.) To control blight, destruction must occur. Often, to ensure future happiness, destruction must occur (that job you keep meaning to leave but just can’t bring yourself to…)
Quite often in our society, we place value judgements of “good” and “bad” on things that simply “are.” While frequently a hex would be considered an undesirable thing, the ability and knowledge of hexing can come in quite handy at times.
